Industrial Warehouse, Silverwater
This industrial development in Silverwater demonstrates how thoughtful architectural design can combine operational efficiency with a strong commercial identity, creating a purpose-built facility tailored to the needs of a growing business.
Zoning
The site is zoned E4 General Industrial, supporting a range of industrial, warehouse and employment-generating uses. The zoning encourages contemporary industrial development that contributes to the economic productivity of the Silverwater employment precinct while maintaining functional and efficient business operations.
Constraints & Opportunities
The project involved the relocation of an established business from existing premises into a purpose-designed facility. The key challenge was to balance the operational requirements of a large warehouse and distribution function with the creation of a professional office environment that reflected the company’s corporate identity. The site also presented an opportunity to create a landmark industrial building within the Silverwater Business Park through a considered architectural response.
Design Strategy
The architectural design integrates approximately 1,100m² of office accommodation with a 2,500m² warehouse facility, creating a seamless relationship between administrative and operational functions. Careful planning of the warehouse layout maximises efficiency, circulation and functionality, while the office spaces provide a contemporary and productive working environment. Externally, the building combines glazing, steel structure and a vibrant palette of colours to create a distinctive architectural expression that elevates the presentation of a typical industrial building and establishes a strong visual presence within the business park.
Approval Pathway
The project progressed through the Development Application process and required the coordination of architectural design, consultant input and regulatory approvals to deliver a purpose-built industrial facility tailored to the client’s operational requirements.
Outcome / Value Proposition
This project demonstrates how strategic architectural design can enhance both the functionality and commercial value of industrial developments. By combining efficient warehouse planning with a contemporary office environment and strong architectural identity, the development provides a highly effective workplace while reinforcing the client’s brand and long-term business objectives.
