Harper House | Beach House Renovation in Newport
Located in Newport on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Harper House is a contemporary alterations and additions project designed to transform an existing dwelling into a light-filled coastal family home.
Positioned near Winji Jimmi Bay, the architectural design focuses on enhancing open plan living, natural light and indoor-outdoor connection to better suit modern family lifestyles. The renovation carefully reworks the existing layout to create spacious kitchen, dining and living areas that flow seamlessly to outdoor entertaining spaces and landscaped surrounds.
The design balances contemporary coastal architecture with the character of the original home, delivering a warm and functional living environment tailored to its beachside setting. Large openings, refined natural materials and improved spatial planning maximise ventilation, sunlight and connection to the outdoors.
Harper House demonstrates how thoughtful alterations and additions can unlock the full potential of an existing property. For homeowners in Newport and the Northern Beaches, it highlights the value of engaging an architect for coastal home renovations, contemporary extensions and bespoke residential architectural design.
Our role encompassed architectural design, documentation and project management for both the Development Application (DA) and Construction Certificate (CC) stages as well as the calling of tender submission from a panel of builders.
